Griswold American No.8 Cast Iron Waffle Maker, High Base 88 Great Condition

I have never even had a cast iron waffle maker before let alone a Griswold. I got this at an estate auction so I know nothing of its history. It is a Griswold No. 8 Waffle Iron on a High Base (88). I can't see any cracks, chips, or any damage of any kind.
When I got it the base was rather rusty and the waffle iron was rather caked with use. I took the base and soaked it in a mild solution of vinegar, water and salt and then cleaned it with a stiff bristled plastic brush and a scouring pad, then washed it in soapy water and rinsed it with hot water, then dried it in a warm oven. I tried cleaning the waffle iron with elbow grease but wasn't making headway so I put it in my self cleaning oven for about an hour, then washed it in soapy water, rinsed and dried it. Then I seasoned both by rubbing them down with vegetable oil and placing them in a 350 degree oven for about 30-40 minutes.
