Description
This is a pattern for a classic can-can skirt of the 1890's.It is calf length and has a full circle skirt, with a lining of ruffles.
The can-can originated in the 1840's, by the 1890's it had taken on this look.
It is usually worn with a regular bodice, high at the back of the neck and plunging low at the bosom in the front with a 3/4 sleeve.
It can also be worn with a camisole and corset or a ball gown bodice.

Yardages given are with nap. Trim ruffles should be at least 4 1/2" - 6" wide, and can be lace, eyelet, or other trim.
